Pick up a back issue of Grassroots Motorsports on Drifting. They did a full write up of how to setup suspension, rims, tires, power, brakes etc. Also read the Suspension archives that Damon setup here. Lots of good info for people learning about modifying a suspension for these types of activities.

Just a few quick comments - Setting up a suspension for drifting is much like any other race type suspension setting. You want to stiffen up the suspension so that loads are transferred quicker and in a more linear fashion. A lower center of gravity helps this. So yes a lower car theoretically would help this provided that shocks and everything else on the suspension supports the lower and stiffer springs.

You have lots of reading to do There is just to much info to absorb.
