factory offset for FD
does anyone know what the factory offset is for the 3rd gen?
is it 38 or 40?
i will be installing H&R springs that will lower the car about 3/4in. i am a little worried about the tires rubbing...i have 17in Enkeis with a 38 offset. does anyone know if i will rub?
thanks

the stock offset for the FC is 40.
since i answered your cries, can you answer mine?
i am thinking more and more that it will rub. i did some quick math and if my creative math is right, i think i will be rubbing.
does this look correct?
stock offset (FD) is 50, the Enkei is 38. difference is 12.
the width difference between the factory and my wheel is 1/2 in.
then 25mm=1 in, so 12.5mm=1/2 in.
so i am looking at a difference of .5 mm...very small. and equalling rubbing.
please correct me if i am wrong. i am praying i am wrong. it has been a while since i have had to do conversions.
thanks guys

In all honesty. The 17,7.5 fitment is a no go for the FD. I truly believe you should just drop it all together.
If you want some good fitting wheels or can't afford to buy new, please indicate what your budget is. i will have several specials on Enkei's High Performance line of wheels posted before this weekend in our vendor section.

None of the FD guys will advocate that fitment, nor the tire size being used with that wheel. It should be a 225/45/17 at the most. And please don't mention that the E36 M3 had 235/40/17 on 17,7.5. That was bmw's mistake. lol.

good news. no rubbing, well almost none. when i go over huge bumps, there is slight rubbing. but when i am taking a turn or cruising there is no problems. either way, i will be going back to stock rims. it will look perfect when the OEM wheels go back on, almost a sleeper.
thanks for all the input guys.
