Enkei's for FD, what would you choose?

If you could choose any Enkei wheel for FD fitment, what would you choose? Any wheel, any size ... cost no object. I'm asking, because well ... I get to choose

I'll be running some wide-body fenders, so I'll probably go a touch wider with a litte less offset than a stock fitment. So I guess I should have asked, taking that into account what would you get.

I wish it was Kenesis, but who would turn down a set of Enkei's of their choice?

IMO the NTO3+M are the best looking enkeis for and FD period

if not those then then RPM2 s are alright

Yea, Nate Davis had them on his SPD Racing FD ... never really liked them that much till I saw them in person. I think I'm leaning toward the NT03's now.

Fitment I'm thinking (with my extra inch or more flare front and rear) 18x9.5 40mm offset front, and 18x10.5 30mm offset rear. Anybody care to advise if that would fit? Suspension is not going to be coil-overs, just Racing Beat springs with Tokico's.

2cute's choices are my own; I really like both of those.

I just picture me scrubbing brake dust out of the NT03's every weekend and that looks like a chore...

Grr, just called them back ... the RP03 two piece will be introduced at SEMA, not in the US yet. So looks like I'll get these instead in these sizes, which look like a perfect FD fitment.

18x8.5 42mm offset front
18x9.5 45mm offset rear

Are you on the crack? Those are killer, too bad I can't get them yet ... they look like an updated version of Fikse FM/5's.

For an FD fitment Ryan I would get the RPF1 ONE PIECE: 18x9.5 +45 for all four corners. We suggested this fitment be brought in as it serves to be a great symmetrical fitment for the FD. You can run 285/30/18 on all fours if you want. This would be your lightweight track setup.

For the uhh, i get free wheels so they should be the most expensive ones, wheels you should go for this:

RPF1 II Piece 18x9.5 +45. If you're talking to Tobin tell him I suggested it and you must have it in this fitment. It should clear your brakes no problem as these wheels are made in a very high pad.

http://www.autornd.com/catalog/produ...c8a545b8215ab3

The fitment suggested to you above in 8.5 and 9,5 is simply a standard fitment that will not require modified fenders and in fact look funny if you did modify them.

Here's a pic on a FC if this helps:

FYI, my emails are backdated Ryan. I replied to your email so please do a search for my name or something. I'm on a trial version of outlook i guess so had to backdate temporarily.

Talk to me if you need advice. I know the Enkei lineup like the back of my hand.

Thanks for the advice Rishie, if 18x9.5 45mm offset fit all around I'll get those. What would be the largest tire for the front with Racing Beat springs on a FD? I know the one piece, and one piece NT03's are lighter, but I'm just not a big fan of one piece cast rims. I'll take the extra 2 pounds in exchange for some more style Oh, and I just dug through my emails, I don't have yours ... can you resend them.

Eric, thost Wun Guns were friggin nuts! I'm freakin out just thinking about them, I mean they were mad tight! Heh, at least they were rims ... you were probably the only guy in STL at the time with rims.

There you go, BLING BLING.

I'd run 255/35/18 on all four corners.

FYI, none of the Enkei Racing Series wheels are of normal cast construction. It is what they call MAT technology. You should look into it and possibly write something up educating people about MAT technology. The RPF1 II piece wheel is also of this same construction with regards to the center disk/face.

MAT is kinda like a "rim rolling" technology, where it is somewhat of a forging process but not a hot or cold press forge. It's a "rolling/forging technology". Very good and very strong. RE-A wouldn't use these wheels on the track if they were just normal cast. At least I doubt he would.

TTY soon,

Rishie

I've read about the MAT on their website, it does sound much better than a normal hot or cold cast. I just don't like the look of cast wheels as much, sorry ... I do care about looks

I don't think Enkei gets enough credit in the US market for producing quality race worthy rims. They produce all kinds of super high end stuff, like F1 rims, and then OZ puts their name on them. On the consumer market, for whatever reason, they have the Honda stimga attached to them.

... oh, and resend those emails Rishie!!!

FYI, Ryan the pics of the wheels I sent you are not the FD specific wheels. Lips would be much larger.
