The votes are in! RPF1! What model FD? FC? What sizes, widths, offsets are available in RPF1? You know the RPF1 does kinda look like the F1 wheels on the McLaren F1 cars (wheels are outfitted by Enkei?) Anyone know what the weights are? Lightweight I bet? I'm looking for these to be race-only wheels on my own FD...

8.5 fr/9.5 rr x 17 with 235/45-17 and 255/40-17. I wonder if 9.5 x 17 rr will fit all around with 255/40-17? Need to know the offset for that...

it will be for a FC. so i'm thinking 17x8 +35 mm offset fronts and 17x9 +38 mm offset rear.

Cheers, what color is your car and what do you want out of the wheels?

The RPF1 is a lighter wheel. I love my set. The RPM2 is a beautiful wheel, but IMO only looks good on certain colors.

I'll check back in a minute. Then cast my vote.

rishie

RPF1 are available in 18" diameter in Japan now. Woo hoo.

What offset is the 9.5 x 17? Would be great to run that size at all four corners. That will be doable with 48-mm offsets. May even get away with 45-mm offsets if you run a short diameter tire like a Hoosier R3S03 in 245/40-17? Let us know what the 9.5 x 17 weighs?

^^^^^^^^^^For reference my old SSR Comps in the same sizes as your RPF1s were 15 and 16 lbs, respectively.

The 42-mm offset 9.5 x 17 Comps with 275/40-17 Hoosiers fit on the front with no rubbing. May get a set of four Comps again in the 9.5 x 17 with 245/40-17 Hoosiers for best results (clearancewise)--if I can't find the right wheels?

^^^^^the 9.5 x 17 42-mm offset Comps with 275/40-17 Hoosier R3S03s were a trial fitment. I wanted to see what the clearance was, so I slapped them on the fronts, and went up and down my driveway curb. Surprisingly, no "Brrrmmm"

Rishie,

my car is a white 89 TII, the exact same one as spool's FC, minus the racing beat exhaust, front lip, and JIC coilovers... he's a little too hard core then me.

so i already know that the RPM2 on my white TII will look amazing.

but then the RPF1s are so tempting... AH!!! too many decisions... then again i could use money for JIC suspension instead of spending any money on wheels.

Here is the sizing chart for RPF1s

i just listed my applicable and FD applicable sizes

17

8i ----- +35 and +45 avalible
8.5i --- +30 and +40 availble
9i ------ +22, 35, 45

5 x 114.3

btw what is the difference between a 17x8I and a 17x8J

and does it mean if its JJ vs J?

my TII meshies are 16x7 JJ

??? no clue.

so for FC it looks like 17x8 +35 front and 17x9 + 35 rear is the closest? or should i go +45? better to go bigger or smaller then factory offset?

btw all values obtained from enkei japan website

Rishie do u have a pic of RPF1 on a FC with stock body, ie no body kits?

SleepR1, if i only drove a FD, i doubt i can run 17x9.5 all the way around on a stock FC without fender flares.

damn... i can't imagine if i got a FD i would never eat, all the money would just be sucked in by the black hole... errr i mean FD

hehe. The RPM2's are amazing on white. No doubt. Youll want +35 offset front and rear for 8 and 9" on FC. FD uses higher offset.

I will take pics of my wheels for you gladly. In fact, a friend is getting his pineapple engine tommorrow and will take a week to put in. His is white and real clean. I can take pics on his.

Although he has full JIC everything as well. lol.

That's a tough decision. I can tell you that the suspension with stock wheels will handle better than the stock suspension with aftermarket wheels. hehe.

I'll take pics and you decide. The RPM's are dope as are the RPF1's. You're lookin at 2lb savings per wheel.

Rishie,

Would you please contact me about the wheels that I was/am trying to purchase? Or give me a number to call you?

Thanks
Chris

crap... i thought i was going with RPF1, now there are more RPM2 votes then RPF1..

=(

maybe i'll just get suspension...

from wheelweights.net

enkei RPM2
17x8 = 16.2 lbs
17x9 = 17.9 lbs

i can't find info on the rpf1 though... all i could find is that 15x7 is 9.1 lbs

Rishie, I am planning on getting the RPM2's though I have never seen them in person. When I get them my FC will be painted Silverstone Metallic (the dark silver on the S2000's) what is your opinion on the RPM2's with that color??

Wooo. Shiny. The RPM2 was available in Japan. There was a link to the site. It was called the MII. The wheel says made in Japan. When they updated the site the wheel was no longer there. But now shows the 18" RPF1. Must be a new development.

The RPF1 is a high quality cast. Similar to that of Advan.

Later, Rishie
