Dust boots for coilovers
Anybody have any luck finding dust boots that will fit inside 2-1/2" springs.
I'm trying to find some dust boots that will fit inside 2-1/2" Eibach ERS springs to protect my Advanced Desgin shocks. I had to have them rebuilt after about 18,000 miles and Ground Control said I need to find some kind of boot to keep debris from making it past the piston seal.
GC suggested motorcycle fork boots but none of the motorcycle shops locally have universal boots or want to be bothered finding a stock boot that might work. There are loads of 4x4 and motorcycle fork boots on the internet but none give comprehensive dimensions (hate to spend money and wait on parts that don't work).
Tein will sell their boots separately but the AD shocks have larger piston and shock body than their shocks. Piston is 16mm (5/8") and shock body is 46mm (1-13/16").
I saw some Daystar fork boots on Lightning in a World of Thunder but they were being used with stock springs. Crispy has pictures of some 4x4 boots that were cut down to work with 2-1/2" springs but doesn't refer to a source.
Thanks,
Jack
