Does anyone have a review/oppinion on these tires?

well i ordered some Yokohama AVS ES100's for my 91 FC. stock tire size of 205/60R15. how do these tires handle (auto-x style driving) and how well do they hook up (drag style racing)?

i'm just trying to get an idea of what i'm in for. i've read they are real good summer tires.

friend of mine has es100's on his 240. the grip is awesome, but only after they are warmed up, cold traction sucks ***.

thanks, so thats why they're a "summer" tire then. tires stay and get warmer lots faster in the summer.

Do a search. This has been covered. Personally I gained a few seconds when I switched to this tire from the SZ50s I had before.

I have the es100's, 17x8's ( 235/40's) and 17x 9.5's ( 255/40's). They seem to be pretty grippy but I do not drive hard that often. I definitely like them better than my Firestone Firehawks sz50's.

Wow, you like them better than the SZ50s?!?! I track my car and found the SZ50s to be much much better.

come on now children.
The ES100s are good, but not really better than any other tire in its class. the Falken ST115 looks cool, grips well, and is used by pro drifters, oh yeah and its cheaper. Also for a summer tire in that price range the Falken Azenis Sport hands the ES its *** after thoroughly kicking it.

I bought the ES100. My previous tire was the Bridgestone 730. I liked the 730, but it was too noisy. The ES 100 looked like a good tire at a good price. The noise went away with the ES100, but so did the grip. I was very unhappy with them. They had a soft sidewall, that tended to roll over too much, even with increased air pressure. The overall traction was far less that the 730. I wound up sending them back, and getting the Bridgestone 750. The 750 is a much better handling tire than the ES100. A big difference.
