disconnecting rear sway???

i thought i remember reading that disconnecting the rear sway bar will help with launching for drag racing. i dont drag much but since my last time there i ran a 13.2 and i am really looking to do some 12's. will this help any. this is a 93 touring. thought i read that the 93 has the largest rear sway bar stock

Other than weight reduction I can't see how. Unless you have huge torque there would not be much body lean on launch for the sway bar to interact with.

That probably helps on solid axle cars, but I am not sure it would make any difference on a car with an independent suspension. I'm not really sure either way, but just keep that in mind if you have heard this associated with drag racing.

i think silkworm runs without a rear sway bar. I asked him about this a while ago and htis was to allow the car to be more understeer biased i think.
