Coilover recommendation

I'm lookign for a coilover with as much adjustability as the HT. But not as pricey. Anyone have any suggestions with products they have tried?

Honestly, I don't know if you an get something cheaper that's independent double adjustable. I'm curious to actually see this suspension. I notice it's not pillowball for the price listed, but am assuming it will come with rigid mounts. It would be good to see how they ride and are built.

An inexpensive coilover setup would be:

Tokico struts
Ground Control Coilovers

Works well and you can get the setup for under $1000. Here's a pic of a car running that setup:

And here's that car on the track:

Keep in mind, that some of those coilover setups that have 16-way adjustability (or something high like that), half of those settings you won't be able to tell the difference (i.e moving from setting 2-4 doesn't feel any different, but moving from 2-7 does). So having a lot of adjustability sometimes is a waste.

Very true and good point. But none the less I am whilling to pour in larger amounts of my own cash into the set up of the suspension than I am more power personally. And having the ability to adjust the rebound and compression independently makes a larger diffrence in driving than simple damper adjustments. You can control the cars cornering actions and behaivor more acurately into and out of the turn .

Well, you aren't going to get any good control like that probably for anything less than a few thousand (i.e. probably in the $4000 range).

Unless you are willing to shell out that amount of cash, the $1000 range coilover setups are going to give you the same range as the $2000 will. The main difference will just be the amount of levels in the middle.

Quick question:

Do you have an FD, cause I see an FC in your avatar? Probably stupid question since I only see HT for the FD. In any case, what functions do you have for your vehicle? We carry double adjustable suspension systems from Japan which are primarily designed for track use only. However we often must prescreen our clientele to make sure they have the ability to fine tune this type of setup. This leads to my next question, do you have experience in tuning suspension/coilover systems or where you going to have a shop do it?

I don't feel that independent adjustments are necessary until your driving skill reaches a level so that you are in complete harmony with your chasis and suspension. Until such a time the feedback from the vehicle can be misinterpreted by the lesser experienced driver, resulting in a then poorly tuned suspension, which ultimately leads to mad frustration. hehe. ok run ons for days.

There are a ton of great coilover systems that are simultaneous compression and rebound adjustable which yield a phenomenal ride quality and handling characteristic. I can make some suggestions, hehe, like ZEAL or Aragosta or ummm, some other really really good ones. The Zeals can be valved and overhauled here in the states. If you want lesser more noticable adjustments you can get the B6 with 6 detents or you can get the same damping range in a 30 way adjustable function X.

email me: sales@autornd.com if you wanna pick brains.

Laters, Rishie
