Is this coilover for me?
Is this coilover for me?
Well Im looking into getting coilovers for my fd. I have been researching and I think Tien Flex are the ones for me. I want something that isnt too over priced. I do mostly street driving and ocassionally autox. I want something that I can lower the car about 1.75 with out making the suspention too stiff. Im also considering JIC FLT-A2 .Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
Also does anyone have pics of fd with stock wheels lowered about 1.5-1.7 in?
Thanks.

I strongly suggest that you don't get coilovers because:
a) you mostly street drive with occasional auto-x
b) you don't want too stiff of a ride
Just get some H&R springs, they lower the car 1.25" and stiffen up the handling a bit. Use them with OEM R1 shocks or some Konis. It will be a lot cheaper, will ride softer, and be cheaper to maintain.
Almost all of the Japanese coilovers are WAY too stiff for street driving. Unless you like kidney damage and losing traction when you hit a pebble going around a curve.... That said, if you are set on coilovers, the Tein Flex and the JIC FLT-A2 seem to be the most streetable.

Ok its now between the JIC and the Buddy Club Racing Spec. Theres a new set of buddy clubs on ebay for $900, I think thats something I cant refuse. But there isnt much info on these coilovers, but jason from jt-imports said their really good.
That sounds like a good deal for the Buddy Club coilovers. That's about half of what the FLT-A2s retail for. However, since there's not much info on them and they're called "racing spec", they may not be adjustable dampers, and you could end up with a really stiff ride.
Heres the spec on the buddy club :
The Racing Spec Damper is ideal for the enthusiast who needs a street/track coilover with an emphasis on track performance. Racing Spec Dampers feature: adjustable stroke, to adjust ride height without sacrificing suspension travel, pillowball uppermount with aluminum top hat, adjustable spring perch, 15 way adjustable damper with 46mm piston, chromium plated steel body for high rigidity and strength and weather resistance.

Also I belive the sring rates are 10/10

I have the JIC FLT-A2's on my FD and I really like them. If I had to do it over again I would buy the JIC's again without even thinking.
But ultimately it is up to you as to what you want to do with your money. Everyone on here is going to offer you their advice. Just remember to take each persons advice with a grain of salt and don't believe everything you hear.
