Coil over question(s)

Hi fellas,
I'd appreciate your help in educating me on the pro's and con's of coilovers. I'm about to install a new suspension set-up on my 93 and I'm leaning towards the coilovers. I like the idea of being able to infinitely adjust my ride height, etc....I'm also planning on putting on bigger 17's or 18's in the future.
I had been debating over the yellow koni's and the ground control coil over conversion kit. However, I'm interested in the Mazdaspeed setup also.
What are the pillow mounts? Do either of the above options that I've listed above include them? Do I need them in order to run coilovers?
Your opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
GEB.

Well there's a couple things to look at when comparing.

1) Does the coilover have a threaded shock body or is the strut threaded and inserted into the shock body. In other words, are there two separate perches for adjustment.

One perch is used to adjust the preload of the spring, and the other is used to raise and lower the vehicle. The problem with GC's and most TEINS is that you can only do minimal adjustment before drastically changing the preload of the spring and changing the piston's stroke.

With good coilovers like the JIC FLT-A2, which is still less than the Mazda, you get a 15 way adjustable strut, 45mm piston, and you can adjust the height of the vehicle without changing the preload of the spring. Therefore your ride will not change much when lowering the vehicle as you will still retain full suspension travel.

I'm sure there's others here who can put it into even more of lamen's terms. But this is the best I can do without writing a book on suspension and setups.

Big difference, not common to find this type of a coilover that doesn't require the use of helper springs, i.e. TEIN and GC.
