To Coil over or Not That is the Question

I have a 91 NA, so far I have just started on the suspension. I pulling it all out, having it all sandblasted and repaint it all, and then replace bushings with a energy suspension full kit (except it didn't come with the BIG BIG bushings RRRRRRG), and I am planning on RB sway bars for front and back, what else should I replace (control links, sublinks, and lateral links)? And should I bother with coil over kit? I am not going to be going out on the track and racing it, purely street, maybe some track if I can get there for time trials so to speak. I was planning on KYB AGX shocks and the RB springs to give me that bit of lowering and performance. Would this be better since I am not going on the circuit, or is there some advantage to a coil over system that I have yet to discover.

Any help is much appreciated

Thanx

Given your uses, don't waste your money on coil overs. The KYBs and springs should be fine. Not much advantage other than the ability to easily raise/lower ride height unless you are a more serious track star. And even then...

Kinda what I figured

I figured more than likely that was the case, since I would save about $700 between the 2 it just means more cash to go to other parts... WOO HOO MORE PARTS!!!

Thank you for your help

Also. . . I wouldnt get coil overs unless you have access to a location that will corner weight your car. Coilovers are used to set of the front/rear weight balance, not only to raise and lower the car.

Good thing is you can run KYB AGX with lowering springs, then later down the road when/if you need the performance gains of a coilover, just run some coilover sleeves(Ground Controls or whichever company).

Ya no coils for you.

My recommendation:

KYB AGX or TOkico Illuminas
RSR Race Springs or RAcing Beat Springs

AWR Independent Rear Camber Adjusters
AWR Rear Toe Eliminator Bushings

Maybe some Camber/Caster plates or something if you need from AWR or ground control.

This is the setup i have on my GTUs.

I can source all these items for you if interested. We have only one set of RSR Race Springs left. They are highly regarded.

Best of luck,

Rishie

Thanx I will keep that in mind, but I think I am going to go with the RB sway bar and spring kit with the KYB AGX's ... I don't know what I wanna do about the rear steer thing... I have never driven the car so I don't know if I would like it or not. Guess I will figure it out when I reinstall the subframe and all after its finished.

Once again thank you
