CA clearance issues, please recommend me a suspension setup

hello,

I recently bought some new wheels, and i am running into some clearance issues. I also want to lower the car a bit more since it looks a bit tall now with the larger wheels.

this is my current setup:

tanabe gf210 springs
tokico illumina 5 way adjustable shocks

I really like the way this setup feels, but i am rubbing right now with my wheels, and i do not have room to space them out. right now i have a 3 mm spacer in front which i would like to remove.

this is a street car so i do not want to make it unbearable to drive or be a passenger. I would be happy with something adjustable that could be softened for daily use, and with a quick dampening adjustment, also achieve a more agile and stable feel. im not looking for a super stock feel, but i don't want to have my teeth rattle out of my head either.

I would like to accomplish these things:

1. get a narrower setup that will allow for more wheel clearance
2. lower the car about one additional inch
3. retain a reasonable balance of smoothness/stability, similar to my tokico illuminas on the tanabe springs.

it seems like i need some narrower/shorter springs.

Id love to hear your recommendation and a little blurb about why you recommend that choice.

Thanks!
-Griffin

Tell us more:
FD?
What wheel sizes and offsets do you have?
What is your ride height now?
Budget?

As you go lower, you naturally need stiffer springs to keep from bottoming out due to the limited suspension travel. Darn those trade-offs and compromises.

fc, s5 NA
17x8 +32 front, 17x9 +38 rear
idk on the ride height, ive got a bit over an inch of fender gap.

id like to get away with spending as little as i need to to achieve the desired effect without buying cheap crap that will break. if coilovers are the only option, then $1500 is really as much as id like to spend. less would be better.
