Can I still buy new lips for Racing Hart C2's?

I've a buddy willing to sell his set to me. They are 40 offset, and are coming off of his TurboII. The problem is they are 17X7.5 wide. FAR too narrow for the kind of tire I want on my FD. Does anyone know if I can simply buy wider rims for these wheels from a racing hart dealer? Also, if I could would that offset work with a rim wide enough to hold a 285?

Thanks!

lol, what are you talking about. You could get a shop to widen the current wheels you have.

Well, the C2's are 3 piece wheels, which means the lip is removable/replaceable, no? I've always heard that having a shop custom widen a wheel is very costly. I'm not sure how much a wider lip would be, but I'd imagine it would be cheaper than having that custom work done.

Any idea who to contact about widening a wheel then? Approximate price?

only place i know of, http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/shells.html
some 3pcs wheels are welded together, make sure you double check on that. I think the shells cost between 150-250 each depending on size.

Instead of posting here and getting a bunch of answers from people who don't know, why don't you call a couple of Racing Hart dealers tomorrow and get a REAL answer...
