Can I fit a set of 3rd gen wheels onto my 89 Supra?

Most have said yes, but I might need spacers. True? If so, where can I get them?

Also a fellow Supra owner metioned "Make sure you got the reenforced rims, the earlier are prone to cracking. You need to check the lug holes from the inside of the rim. Search www.rx7club.com for more info on that." so that's why I am here.

Any pics of the difference between the reenforced rims and the non-reenforced ones?

Thanks in advance!!

Tom

I don't know the bolt pattern or offset of the 89 Supra, but a ton of info on RX-7 wheels can be found here, including photos of the reinforced vs. non-reinforced wheels.

I know people stick supra rims on FD's they only thing that needs to be done is boring the hub hole for the supra rims to fit on the FD.

Offsets are similar, should be doable.

You will likely need spacers for the front but the rear will be fine. Get a 20mm spacer and you'll be set, then some 25mm spacers for the rear. Your fitment is more like a FC than a FD.

I have these spacers in stock if you're interested. There's a post here for FC to FD conversion if you look. Our subforum also has the thread. AutoRnD Vendor Subforum.

The specs for the two vehicles would be:

93 Mazda RX7
Wheel Size.... 16X7
Bolt Circle... 5-114.3
Center Bore.. 67.06
Offset........ 52

89 Toyota Supra
Wheel Size.... 16X8
Bolt circle....5-114.3
Center Bore.. 60.06
Offset........ 35

---Differences---
Wheel Size - Supra stock rim is wider by 1"
Bolt Circle - same
Center bore - The RX7 center bore is larger 7mm, as long as your are placing the Mazda wheels on the Toyota you would simply need a centering ring. if you are trying to go from the Toyota to the Mazda the wheels will not fit.
Offset - The offset on the mazda is 20mm higher than the Toyota.

If you are placing the mazda wheels on your toyota you would needa 20mm hub centric spacer. Sorry the tire rack does not sell spacer.

The INFO ON FD wheels is incorrect.

Connor you might want to update your system.

FD wheels are a 16x8 +50 offset.

Regardless you're looking to do the Spacer conversion I mentioned above. It will work perfectly. Your JZA70 is like a FC setup.

And it can be made hubcentric with my recipe.
