Brake Rotor Brand Choice

Ok I am looking to replace some brake rotors and I am wondering if it is worth the wait and money to order up some brembo rotors or if the generics that the local auto parts store warehouse stocks are alright (probably about half price and no shipping on something rather heavy).

Is there really a difference in brake rotor blanks when you go between different brands? I'm not looking for x-drilled, slotted, coated, or any other fanciness. just plain old blanks. Anyone have an opinion or know something about this?

I have heard from many racers that blanks are blanks, but I believe the difference might be if one comes with the zinc rust-proof coating and the other doesnt.

Might want to check on that.
