Brake pads...

Ok, axxis or Hawk? I want a balance, don't need them to be able to stop a speeding semi truck. Would like more braking power over stock and not have to change them for a few years.

Also, off subject. When you change your clutch...I know you have to resurface the flywheel, do you have to resurface the Pressure plate as well?

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? And I did use the search...most of the posts it showed were here. And my second question wasn't relating to breaks. So it was a general tech. question.

you should be getting a new pressure plate in your clutch kit, so no resurfacing. as for brake pads, i prefer ebc green. my fronts are at about 15k miles, including some autoxing and track days and still have a decent amount of life left.

I'm actually putting in a used set (clutch), do I have to resurface those? I never heard of resurfacing a PP, someone told me to get that done. Just wondering if it's necessary.

Thanks for the reply.

I just got some Haws HPS and I love em, though I can't comment on the others having never used them. Josh

I haven't heard of that either. My guess is, unless it's got some really bad hot spots, just use some steel wool and clean it up. If you can, check to make sure it's got adequate and even pressure all around. This is what I've done in an antique car of mine. But if given the choice, I wouldn't put a used PP in.
