Can anyone confirm the right way these caps should go?(PICTURE A OR PICTURE B)

is the 'cap' you refer to the part in your hand? It looks the same in both photos. UNDERNEATH that part in your hand I see a change in orientation of that component...


Well if the diagram you show is correct for the parts you have, it is a bit different but I'd say item 49-620 fits into the 'top' of the hat, item 49-625, the part in your hand.

Note the 'hat 'reference is if you view the part from the side and it gives the profile of a real hat.
