brake dust cleaner

trying to restore the 2nd gen phone dials.
can you really get the accumulated brake dust off?

pep boys - Brake Kleen I think it's called, an aerosol can. Don't know if it'll hurt anythign on your wheels, but it'll disolve brake dust...
