Lots of people, including the top AutoXers, use 245/45-16 on all four.

16-inch

If you're running the stock FD wheels, either the 225/50- or 245/45- will work. It really depends on the tire manufacturer.

Some 245/45- tires are much too wide for the stock 8-inch width, and others are perfect fit, so I'd only go with the 245/45-16 in the latter case. Examples are BFG G-Force R1As or Yokohama A032R.

Tires that are too wide for the stock, 8-inch wheel widths are, Toyo RA-1, Kumho Victoracer V700, and Hooser R3S03. I have direct experience with Hoosier 245/45-16s with 3 sets of 245/45-16 Motorola Cup Hoosiers (similar compound to R3S03 compound but a bit harder to hold up under endurance racing conditions). These are very wide and require a MINIMUM of 8.5 inches of bead-to-bead width. Otherwise you're squashing the tire to a narrower size and not taking full advantage of the extra width! . I measured the bead-to-bead space of a loose (off-of-the-rim) 245/45-16 Hoosier, and that space is 9.25 inches. Ideally you'd like a 9-inch rim width to take full advantage of the Hoosier 245/45-16's wide contact patch. Obviously an 8-inch bead-to-bead is too narrow, so in this case you really need a 225/50-16 Hoosier for the stockers.
