best tires? opinions

I'm in need of new tires... I've still got the stock rims. My main concern is sidewall strength - I don't want to have the tires roll onto the shoulder (of the tire) under hard cornering. I'm also interested in getting something that will last more than a few thousand miles.

I was looking at the Michelin Pilot SX MXX3, but they are pretty expensive, and have a low treadwear rating. Anyone ever used these? Any other suggestions?

thanks

From my experience, I've noticed that Yokohama's tend to have a stiffer sidewall in comparison to other brands in the same relm. My AVS sports have one hell of a stiff sidewall, but the treadwear rating is low as well. I am not sure if you can find both, what # are you looking for as far as treadwear rating. I'll see what I can find for you.

Kumhos?

If you're looking for in-expensive and great performance, get some 215/40/17s, or 205/55/16s from Kumho. Hopefully you have a Discount Tire around you somewhere (they'll paint your calipers too )... goto tires.com... if you don't get those, get yokohamas they rock.
