Best lowering springs?

Wondering what you guys think the best lowering spring is, I'm not just looking to slam the car.

"Best" is very difficult to pin down.

For a race track the best is something with relatively high spring rates. For street the same spring rates will rattle the fillings out of your teeth.

For stock wheels and tires, which have fair sidewall compliance, you can get by with a bit stiffer springs vs. high aspect ratio tires (18") which do not have hardly any sidewall flex and, again, will send you to the dentist. If I recall correctly the Racing Beats are relatively close to the stock rates, which is good for the street.

I am using the Tein SS springs at this moment and it is OK with stock wheels tires but, a bit on the stiff side with my 17" rims and tires. They are around 430 - 325 lbs per inch rates. They will lower the car, about as much as you can, without bottoming out problems. Nothing worst than a car that is too low and hits its bump stops over any and all road irregularities. I compensate for the stiff ride by running lower, 26-28 lbs tire pressures with them. Also, the Tein SS is probably the least expensive set when purchased through E-Bay.

For my FD that I raced, I went through a whole line of springs before I settled on one set.

Also, if you maintain relatively close-to-stock spring rates you'll probably be able to get by with stock shock absorbers (touring). If you increase your spring rates considerably you will need to go to shocks with much higher rebound rates beasue the strong spring action will defeat the stock shock's rebound settings, making for a very unstable car in bumpy corners.

Go with Eibach springs. Just enough drop to look awesome, but not enough where you're scraping off your muffler, and splash shield, etc. About an inch, or inch.5 drop
