Best AX / Track wheel size/tire setup for FD

I posted this in the race car tech section, but after thinking about it, this may fit better here. Any input is appreciated.

What class are you running in? Are you competing or just doing for yourself for fun?

Running in SM2 provided you have enough HP you'll want as big of a tire width as you can fit (based off of what the top FD drivers in the class are running). They are running 17" rims with tires around 255/40 front and 275/40 rear at a minimum. I'm still running on 245/40 A032Rs but I'll probably be going up to 255/275 or more when I run these tires out (I have another set of rims now).

In these sizes you'll have to look at what tire you want to run in a R compound and then select your rim/tire size. Once you start getting > 255/40 it gets a bit sparse. 275/40 has a pretty good selection, after that you have to head up to "Corvette/Viper" size around 315/35 before you get a decent vendor mix again.

If you are running in a stock class, you will be required to keep stock size wheels. The stock FD wheels are actually pretty good. Very light. For stock, I would recommend a 245/45/16 size tire.

This is just for fun. No hardcore competition or anything. I'm not 100% sure what class I will be in. I think it's safe to say that I am not eligible for a stock class considering my coilover suspension, brakes, and engine upgrades after this weekend, I should be tuned to around 360-375 whp so I will probably need atleast 255/40's. I already break traction in 2nd with 265 Kumho MX's in the back when the turbo spools.

Run atleast a 285/30/18 in front or go bigger like Andy runs. Andy says he will be running a 315 on front this year. He's the BOMB!!

If you run 275's you will not get enough traction anywhere!!

I think I am going to go with a set of Kumho Victoracers V700 245/45/16 on the stock wheels. I heard that they will be coming out with this size in the V710 soon, but my tire guy just said he hadn't heard anything about it.
