I went and double checked.
I forgot that these are double adjustable; the bottom also screws up/down to keep the travel distance of the piston the same. The body that screws over the main shock body (bottom side) is aluminum and the shock body is some other metal as it's magnetic.

Just installed a set of these coilovers on my brother's FD and they're very nice quality for the price. Also super light..... fronts weigh 9#, rears 8#. For comparison the stock touring shocks and Eibach springs weighed 12# per corner. Dropping an easy 14 pounds off your suspension isn't a bad thing
I just bought a set of these used. They look very nice. Can't wait to get my car running so I can test them.
One thing I highly suggest, clean and anti-seize the threads occasionally. Being that the collars and the shock bodies are dissimilar metals, they corrode and the collars get stuck. Mine only have around 10k miles on them, and I spent about a week with a 6 foot breaker bar, a tub of pb blaster, and a heat gun breaking those collars loose. Everything I owned smelled like pb blaster and tears for a couple of weeks.
I went and bought some softer Stance springs that I may swap the 12k springs with, depending on how rough the 12k springs are. They were $100 bucks for 4 8k springs. Figured it might be worth it if they make the ride more comfy. I've read that these things ride pretty rough.
