Anyone using Stance?

A friend of mine was recommending Stance coilover, also he can get a great deal on the coilovers.

Has anyone tried them or heard any stories about them?

http://www.stance-usa.com/three.php

I've never heard of the company till he brought it up so I was wondering if there are anything bad about them?

I seriosuly doubt that stance has the experiance or engineering know-how to pull off a good triple adjustable.

I have heard they were pretty bad ***, but I have no personal experience to base that on, just hearsay.

I'll clarify: I'm sure they work ok and are a fine street setup, but their performance is probably miles away from the 3 way adjustable race shocks that cost that much each (Penske, JRZ, Moton, etc). It's very hard to make the adjusters do exactly what you want, like adjust only low speed rebound without affecting compression or high speed rebound. Every new damper feature you add adds complexity, they probably just made the job of getting it right at lest 10x as hard with remote reservoirs and three adjustments.

I also have doubts about the quick release on the hose. That's an invitation for air bubbles to get in, which is bad.

So, it's an interesting looking product, but the product probably won't live up to the hype if you're looking at them for racing.

How are you comparing Stance GR3 with Penskes, Moton, etc...?

Stances are less than a 1/4 of the price for the other race suspension. They aren't even on the same level.

One is a street/track coilover whereas the others are all full race coilover. What kind of idiot would drive Penskes or Motons on the street? It would require revalving and more time of a shock dyno to make them for street use. So its unfair for you to say they suck when you compare them to full-track ONLY suspension.

So for price and street/track worthiness, I like them. I have two friends using them on their FC and I have them on my FD. No problems so far, and if we did, they offer a 1 year warranty. No questions asked. They don't compare to my Zeal V6s on my FC but hell, the Zeals probably can't compare to Penskes or Motons. At the same time, I didn't pay $1500+ per corner to get them.

How do they compare to advance design double adjustables? those are about the same price. And do the high and low speed rebound setting actually make a noticable change in the correct speed range? How are the zeals better than these stance?

Musmo,
You should contact Rishie at AutoRnD. He should be able to help you on your decision making. His screen name here is ARD T2 or you could visit his Website at autornd.com.

Btw, I have the GR+ installed on my FD and I am quite pleased. I have nothing but praise for these coilovers. I bought them for street/track use (I have yet to hit the track though) and for the decent price. I have had them for almost a year and no problems so far.

Well I guess I must have been completely out of my mind to think that people might compare triple adjustable remote reservoir coilovers with other triple adjustable remote reservoir coilovers and maybe think that they might be similiar.

Plenty of people drive Motons, Penskes, DA Konis and the like on the street. Just because you don't doesn't mean others don't. There's at least 2 examples of FD autocrossers from this board alone who drive high end stuff on the street (that's just from memory, there may be more), one with Penske's, one with Koni 2812's. Look up Andy Hollis' STS2 Miata blog on the Grassroots Motorsports website, he runs 2812's and drives it on the street. Lots of BMW and Porsche guys run Motons on the street.
