I found a set that I'm thinking of buying but I wanna check a see what they look like on an FD cos the fitment guide tells me that yes they will fit, but the front space will be big so they could look gay

Nice and no traction too.

You can get 17" wheel and tire combos that are as light or nearly as light as the stock wheels... and 18's that are close too. You'll pay a weight penalty with most all 19's, but some are still pretty light.... and aftermarket wheels open up a whole lot of other tire sizes you can run... and not to mention better looks. Hyundai Tiburons come with 16-17" wheels now.

I have pictures on my home computer. I'll also have pictures of my own car with 19" rims soon, I hope.

go through the wheels and tire section, their are several threads with pics. 19's look too big, especially if the car is lowered, if you are worried about too small of rims, get 18's and drop it. I have met some people with fd's with 500+whp that ran 19's and they said they had zero problems.

Dorifto_PG, that's pretty funny that YOU would criticize someone else's wheel choice. At least Jim's fit the bodywork properly and have properly fitting tires....

It just looks like this to me:

Not low enough, rims too big of an OD.

As for my wheel fitment.... I won't go there. You think putting 19s on a sports car is cool but GOD FORBID i run some wide wheels!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHH THE TYRES ARE OUT OF SPEC!!!!!

I don't think 19s are a good idea on an FD, in fact I argue against it everytime someone asks if it's a good idea. And I certainly don't have a problem with running wide wheels. Just a problem with running much wider wheels than you need with stupidly low offsets.

So, try again.

Try again my ***. I had the fastest entry speeds of the day (def. no shortage of grip) and I placed in the top 8, Qualified in P1. I'm not doing **** to my FC to make it handle WORSE. Get over yourself.

Thanks again

**** yeah. that's a way better idea, imo. but FDs can't handle a very low offset with stock fenders (especially in front). So if you want big deep dish, are you planning to run over fenders?

If you were looking at 19's, you may be dissappointed with 17's. 18's are a really nice compromise.

What are you saying? You'd rather have 19s on a car and not be able to lower it, keeping it like a monster truck or Hip Hop WHIP, then that's all you, buddy.

You can theoretically lower a car w/ most 19" wheel/tire sizes the same as you can a car with 18's, or 17's, if the tires are sized correctly.

A 275/30/19, is about the same diameter as a 275/35/18, is about the same diameter as a 275/40/17. If they're all on a 10" wheels, the outer "package" dimentions will be about the same size.

Yeah, but then youa re more or less running rubberband sidewalls, especially in the front, where i think 18s are too big. 17s in the front works much better. Notice WTCC and JGTC (Now called Super GT) cars only run 18s, but plenty sidewall, and have to increase the radius of the wheel opening, as well as completely rework and custom do fenders to accept the larger OD.

For production cars, at least of the era our cars were made, I prefer smaller in front.

18's are fine on an FD. A 255/35/18 front tire is perfectly streetable and has a decent sidewall.

Yeah, you are right. And that pic looks good. Did you have to modify anything to run those? No rubbing? Any track or very hard driving on them?

I would go that route over 19s any day of the week.

And F1 cars only have 14" wheels. The WTCC and JGTC wheel sizes mean nothing. Wheel sizes on race cars are often driven by the rules package which will typically state what wheel and tire sizes you're allowed to run. You'll draw the wrong conclusions by saying "racecars do this so it's better" unless you are intimately familier with the rules to which that racecar was designed. I bet if you look you'll find that all the WTCC and JGTC cars run 18" wheels because the rules say they must.
