Any advice? Eibhach Spring Install FD

Like the thread says, does anyone have any past experience or advice for installing springs?

Any trouble areas, or anything to be aware of?

Post here! Installing this weekend.

Thanks,

Steve

Be aware of the abs sensors when taking off the front struts those things can cost up to 250 dollars per sensor.

hi steve,
it is pretty straightforward... do you have a shop manual? one area that could cause you a problem if you are not prepared for it is>>>

you need to remove the shocks.. they have a thru bolt that bolts to the lower control arm. the lower control arm is aluminum and it has metal inserts to support the shock mounting bolt. these inserts actually slide back and forth... sliding together when you tighten the bolt. to ease reinstallation you need to press them apart so the shock slides between them... buy a length ( 7 inches) of 3/8 threaded rod w some bolts and washers. stick the threaded rod thru one of the metal inserts and place a washer and a nut, then a nut and a washer on the rod. thread them out so they push the metal inserts about a half inch.

enjoy the springs.... you will love them.
