I would like to change the bushings in the roll bar mounts as they are getting pretty squishy. I have a R2. Where might I buy these from and what size is the closest fit? I'm looking at Energy suspension's units currently.

I just changed mine with Energy Suspension.

I got the 9-5164 1-1/8" bushing. Fit nicely to the bushing. Though since this is wider, I need to cut the rubber band that hold the swaybar from side to side movement, but its easy, just cut a 1 inch rubber hose and use some hose clamps.
I put them in last weekend, they worked great!!!

Part number 9-5112 is replaced with 9-5164, basically.

The Energy ones sound like a good idea. I am pretty sure that is what comes with the Tri-Point front bar, too. Tri-Point uses some aluminum collars to keep the bar from moving side-to-side, I am sure you can find some at http://www.mcmaster.com/ if you would prefer that to the hose and hose clamp solution. Both solutions seem like they would work. Be sure to grease them up.

The end links get loose, too. Mazdatrix.com sells some replacements that use rod-ends, and I think someone has a how-to with instructions for making your own. The Tri-Point bar uses rod ends with some special little blocks to mount to the A-arm for their modular bar.

For the rear bushings, there have been a few reports from people replacing some of the rubber with hard plastic to stiffen the bushings. There is a lot of rubber, so you can cut some off the block and replace it while still keeping rubber all the way around the bar. I don't remember how the plastic is kept in place, but perhaps the metal bracket around the bishing or some glue or something does the trick. Or some Energy bushings back here, too.

Stiffening the mounts has the same effect as stiffening the bar, too, so you should get a little more roll stiffness from the change. The elimination of slop should give a nice improvement in response as well.

Great, Modesto is about 25 minutes away. I'll call this weekend and hopefully go pick them up. I will look for some rear bushings as well and see if there are some clamps too, Kris will be coming too
I have the solid ends on the front bar and they did make a noteable differance. You can byu the parts at Home Depot if you know the size of the eye you need.
