Advise on purchasing suspension

Hi, I just got my refound from the IRS, and i want to spend it on suspension stuff, i have a 90 N/A with black powdercoated FD rims. I'm asking for advise on what to buy. I rode on my friends TII which has the JIC suspension, and i felt it too hard, i could feel every single little rock on the road. What i want is something more confortable for daily driving,
Anyways, thanks for all the help!
