advan racing rg's on my FC

i have been sitting on a new set of 17x7.5's with a 45mm offset. i wanted to run 255-40-17's on the rear and 235-40-17's on the front. im just curious if anyone knows if my offset will be an issue? thanks for your help

That rear tire size is way too big for those wheels and I think the front tires are a smaller diameter than the stock size. I'm not all too familiar with FCs tire size but those sizes sound wrong. I think the biggest you can is 235s on a 7.5" wheel. A 225/45 would be best.

Also, the offset is wrong on your wheels. FCs are +40mm stock meaning that your new wheels will sit inside the fenders, especially in the rear.

With that size and offset i would run 225-45-17 all around so you can do tire rotations, and use a 10mm spacer to clear the suspension.

hmmmmm....ok i am starting to realize my dilemma. i have the rims and i have the tires. but not together yet. can i mount the tires to 17x8's? and if so what offset is needed/recommended?

or could i even stagger the wheels like most folks do here? 17x8's in the front and 17x9's in the rear with the tire dimensions above? i would prefer to use some of what i have as long as i can still make it work.

good to know, i would almost prefer to sell the tires i have in favor of keeping the rims and getting a different tire size. oh and where would i get the spacers needed?

30mm-35mm! thats definately the area to shoot for.
i ran 245/40/17 on 17x8 +30 with no problem. (stock style springs and coilovers)

You need to sell those wheels to a FF car and get 8's and 9's like the guys are stating. If you want Advans hit me up and i'll work out a fitment and pricing for you.

Ideally they produce a:

17x8.0 +37 or 8.5 +31, these might not clear coilovers

17x9.0 +35 or 9.5 +35

Oh and in terms of spacers i would get a 20mm spacer. I have them in stock. For the rear you can do a 25mm spacer. It will work nicely, at least a lot better than what you have now.

Then you can run a 225/45/17 all the way around in the event yu can't sell the wheels.

Rishie,
i am mos def going with the

17x8 - 225/45/17
17x9 - 255/40/17

advans are ok. the more i started looking at BBS and CCW the more i wanted a set of mesh looking wheels. thats why i chose the volk racing gt-u's. oh man they look pretty! i just get confused when it comes to off sets....i have a hard enough time remembering tire dimensions, lol.

per digital synthesis quoting RETed on the official FC wheel fitment thread:

Per RETed:

17" x 8" +27mm offset (+30 to +25 should work) with 225/45/17 up front
17" x 9" +20mm offset (+15 to +30 will work) with 255/40/17 in back

i thought my offsets would be a little smaller. but you know, i am down to just bring my car by and we can work it out together. with spacers and whatever else i need. i am just going to sell the Advan RG's, but first just thought id ask....Since they are brand spanking new would you consider a trade in and some cash for a set of gt-u's? either way you will be seeing me soon.

thanks again Rishie

FYI, we moved to mail order and wholesale only. No more phat *** showroom and huge retail facility. I'm totally down to meet up with you and work it out.

I already know what you will have to do if you want to keep those RG's, i would not be able to take them in trade as they do not fall into our primary segment of the market in terms of fitment.

You might be able to sell them to a Protege Sedan, MZ3, or MZ6.

Where did you buy them from? Were they on clearance or something? FYI, the GTU is a heavy *** wheel.

I have a real nice inexpensive wheel in Black with polished lip. Gorgeous Mesh, sPortmax 006. I can do those for crazy cheap if you want a nice beater wheel.

Thanks, Rishie
