99 Spec tire SIZES ?????? Help !!!
I just received my 99 spec wheels yesterday.
8 x 17 JJ front
8.5 x 17 JJ rear
Anyone know what size and make of tires the '99 RS's come with stock?????
I've been looking through a book and I see tire sizes/brands for the RZ, but no specifics on the RS's.

Tires on the '99 are Bridgestone Potenza S-07s. You'll have to make do with Potenza S-03s here in the States.

Yeah, they have both sizes. I just found that out last week. The guy I bought my wheels from has ads for both sizes up on thepartstrader.com if you want to see pics. He said about half have the 16's and half have the 17's.

Just to clarify, ONLY the RS model has had those 5-spoke 17inch wheels as standard. Its been that way since '96. Tires have been either Expedia SO1's or the Potenza S07's. Exceptions being RZ and special LE models.
All other models(including the RB variants) have had 16 inch wheels as standard equipment. In '99, Mazda redesigned the standard 16 inch wheel(its lighter and looks more like the 5-spoke 17inch version). Still 16x8.
The RB is basically the base model RX-7(which is why it doesn't have the 17inch wheels or the better turbos) while the RS is more of the full featured/fully equipped model. Read more about the different models currently offered in Japan HERE
