96 GT wheels, stud question

Looking at a set of these 17x8 96 stang wheels:

I read somewhere that longer wheel studs are needed for mustang wheels? Is this true? I'm going to be using them for drifting so any feedback would be appreciated.

Well count the number of turns you get from the lugs before they're tight. It should be AT LEAST 8 FULL turns. I replaced my studs with ARP ones to be on the safe side, but getting the rears in requires taking the hubs off, which involves a fair bit of work. "Luckily" for me I had to get my rear wheel bearings changed at the same time, so I got them to change the studs at the same time.

I like my Mustang wheels, but they're the 99-04 GT wheels.

Alright, I'll test fit em and see if they're on that tight.

Didn't your mother ever tell you if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all?

Mustang wheels are reasonably light, rediculously cheap and fit perfectly. What's wrong with that? I think they look pretty good on an FC (personally I prefer the 5 spoke 99-04 ones), and without the center caps most Mustang guys don't recognise them anyway. I've had to tell Muatang owners that my wheels are Mustang wheels. I got mine because I didn't want to spend over triple the price on equivalent wheels from the aftermarket, and I choose to have form follow function.

Yeah, don't think I'm gonna find a set of 8 inch wide wheels for drifting at any cheaper price than just over $100-150 with good tires!
