93 FD strut/shock dust boot question

I'm switching out my springs and the dust boot is all torn and I want to replace them. Where can I find these and do I have to buy factory? Mazda said they only sell the dust boot with the bump mount as a whole assembly, ~$75/each!! Anybody replace the dust boot when switching out their springs? Any input? Thanks.

Factory is the only way to go as far as I know. Also - the boot and bump stop are one unit and you can't replace just the boot.
I did this 6 months ago and called Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda. You probably wont find a better price and he gets it to you really fast. Let him know you are a member here.

It's such a project and you only want to do it once - just buck up and replace the boots I say.

Get a universal one. I bought 4 and they fit really well. Cost $40 compared to $300.

replace with new, the boot is not the only part that fails. the bump stops disappear and the upper mount collapses

+1

Made a huge difference on my car. Do the spring pads also. They isolate the spring from the spring perch on the shock and decrease funny noises.
