I don't have the stock brakes, but I did do the MC upgrade and it works well. I imagine it will work fine with the stock brakes, too. It will decrease pedal travel and increase the amount of force you need for a given braking level. That is really helpful when you upgrade to brakes with more volume, but may not be that useful if you are pleased with your current pedal feel.
