87 TurboII Stopping distance

Ok, just looking on information about the factory stopping distance for 40-0, 60-0, 100-0. Also will like what will better tires do to stopping distance and brake pads in percentage. In tires meaning wider and softer tires than what the car came back in 87 and how it will affect stopping distance. Any help would be appreciate, kinda doing a research on effects of better brake pads and tires affecting the stopping distance.

The stickier your tires, the less your braking distance, since you can lean on the brakes harder without locking up. More grippy brake pads/bigger rotors/bigger calipers work with stickier tires because you can generate more braking force that way. (so long as you don't lock the tires) Bigger rotors and calipers also will take longer to heat soak and will usually dissapate heat more quickly (more surface area) so they will have better braking perofrmance when you brake repeatedly and heat up the components.

In '86 C&D previewing a Japanese GT model got 193feet 70-0. (that's bad) In a different article they had a GXL doing 161feet 60-0.

In '88 R&T /w a TII got 150feet 60-0, 256feet 80-0.

In '89 motortrend did 60-0 in 123 feet, 30-0 in 33feet. A '89 comparison was 122 feet.

I got this information in articles from www.iluvmyrx7.com. I'm curious why the S5 cars did so much better than the S4s.

Nah, abs is t3h sux0r unless it's wet out. Also, I'm pretty sure only the Turbo S5's had abs, but even so, you can stop better on dry pavement without it in most cases. Maybe the stock S5 cars came with better tires or better brakepads or both?
