I've searched but haven't found any pix of these rims on an FD. I know these rims are kind of generic looking and a lot of people have them, but I'm considering them and haven't seen any on FDs. I have a black car and I like the black with polished lip ones. Anyone have any pix of this setup?

 

 

Nice, you have a very clean car. Could you please list the wheel and tire sizes. Are those yokohama ES100s? Also, what are you lowered on? I may go with Silver or Gunmetal FN's instead of the black/polished.

 

That was one of the first handful of lsx powered fd's, I can't remember his screen name offhand. I know he was running 17's up front and 18's in the rear.

I would like to see some more pics of these as I will be shopping for a new set of street wheels/tires soon. Anybody know how compatable they are with big brakes in the front, Rishie?

 

Ive had FN01RCs on another car but never considered them on my FD. But they look good and they are cheap!

Any more pix? These are pretty inexpensive for the sizes they offer and they can be pretty cheap if found used. I may just have to pick up a set. I'd like to see some more pix if possible thouh.

Thanks for the pix. They really do look nice on an FD. Do you know if those are 18s? I think I've heard that only the 10" wide FN01RC's have the concave face in the rear. If you could give me any wheel and tire size and suspension information that they are running, that would be really helpful.

 

I like the bronze. I was thinking about getting some of the GN+ from them but the more i look at the FN01RC, the more I like. I wouldnt mind hearing the size and offsets people are running. Especially on the black car

 

If you want real world fitment that actually represents a performance upgrade, the ONLY choice you have in that wheel is 17x9 +43 offset.

 

On a FD that you might occasionally track, what reasonably priced brand and tire size would you go with?

 

On that sized rim, a 255/40/17 Kumho MX all around should do the trick.

how do u get that concave look on the rim?

im guessing 18x10 with like 6mm offset? or higher number like 46mm?

 

I know that you need to have a 10" wide rim to have the concave look. I'm not sure what offsets and diameters you need though. I'm looking into it as I'm ordering a set this week.

The first FD pictured running the 17's in the front and 18's in the rear listed his widths as 9F and 9.5R. So you need at least a 9.5" width for the concave effect with these rims.

 

For the concave rims you need to run the 18x9.5+45. That will fit on all 4 corners of a FD so that's a pretty nice setup

 

question is..... to have more of that concave effect would i need to go HIGHER (+46) or LOWER (+26) on 18x9.5's for example

i remeber seeing Advan RGIIs that were 18x10 and had like +22 offset with a major concave effect..... so i dont know what to think anymore haha

from what ive learned the HIGHER the offeset is... the more concave effect...... but when i saw the RGIIs, it kinda contradicted what i was told before.

for the concave look i meant the rears in these picutres.......... not the first sliver ones, those barely have a convave effect on them.

 

Well the lower the offset you go, the further away the mounting point is from the outside of the rim, so I'm assuming that the lower offset that you go, the more the concave face look you get.

It would help to know what the highest offset wheel you would need of each size to give the look, and pretty much anything lower offset will definitely be even more.

I believe the red one pictured above had 17's on it at the time if I remember correctly, so that look could be achieved with 17's.

I just tried sending an email to 5zigenusa.com, but their email program isn't working. I'm let you guys know what I find out by poking around.

 

The lower the more concave the rim gets. But you're sacrificing the wheel actually fitting your car. 18x10+22 would fit the rear (with coil-overs, thin tires, and a healthy fender roll. It would more likely need a fender flare) but would DEFINATELY not fit the front (not without coil-overs or fender flares)

 

Would the 18x10 +22 require some serious modification to fit? I'm using the FD wheel size calculator and it comes up with -.64 fender clearance. What size tire would you need to run, and would it need to be stretched? Rolling the fender is no problem for me so that should clear up maybe 7-10 mm. Also, would that require some camber just to fit?

I just got off the phone with Logan at Aspec. He said to get the concave look, for 17x10's, or for 18x9.5s, you would need at least a +25 offset.

I called my friend at Apexi and asked what size they run on their drift FD3s, he's finding out right now the offsets for me. All he could tell me at the time was that they run Potenza 265s in the rear.
