5-Bolt FC tire fitment...

Has anyone tried mounting a set of 225/55-16's, 225/45-16's, or 225/50-16's in the front. I spoke to someone at Discount Tires who claimed the 50 series would fit, which leads me to believe the 45 series would fit also due to less sidewall deflection under load.

These are going on stock 16x7 +40mm wheels.

Some 225/50/16's fit...

225/55/16 is way too tall.
225/45/16 is too short.

Tire does not deflect at the top where you get fitment problems.
Majority of the tire deflection is at the bottom where the tire meets the road.

These are actually going on an 86 Base with tii wheels. 225/45's are closer to the stock 185/70-14's in diameter.
