300zx (z32) wheels fit on FD?

i have a set of z32 wheels with slicks mounted, and i know the bolt pattern will work, but has anyone ran them for drag use?

Why is it in these type of threads that no one ever lists the wheel size and offset?

the wheels are 16x8.5(rear) and the offset is 35mm...

and offset is not really always the answer, sometimes its the wheel design, i am hoping that it does not rub on the caliper.

Don't qoute me but I've heard 300zx, rx7, and 3kGT Vr4 have interchangable 5 bolt pattern wheels.

It may not always be the complete answer, but size and offset are the two crucial fitment factors.....I doubt you'd have clearance problems with the rear caliper.

I'm confused though...if you have an FD and you already have the Z wheels, why don't you just go out and mount them and see if it will work?

I second that. Why don't you just mount them up and find out for yourself. And once you do post back here and tell everyone.

noobs
according to my expert google search

FD3S centerbore is 67.1mm
300zx z32 centerbore is 66.1mm

even if you ignore all the other possible fitment issues, they won't fit unless you get a machine shop to bore out the middle.

I plan on it, but what would be faster, doing a search/post on here or doing the work... just doing some research ahead of the game... i could have sworn i saw a pic of a FD3S running the z32 wheels thats why i asked on here

They dont... one of my friends had the 300zx wheels WELDED onto the rotor... ended up getting into a accident on the freeway when the welds broke.

Point... no, they dont fit up.

Was just wondering Rishie, cause I'm sure a lot of engineers and manufactures would LOVE to hear how this is done. Even GOD him self would like to hear of this. So far, the only technique of marry-ing such materials is to rub/spin them under imense pressures. Even then its just a matter of using friction to mar surfaces to mix them up so they sorta stick at best. Maybe he meant JBWeld?? LOL
ohh wait, I'm keeping this old thread alive :O
