Well thats gonna depend. Do you want good handling and good streetability, great handling and not so streetable, all out race suspension?
I auto-cross and do some track days, and I have the Ground Control Coilover setup. It was $400 and I got 375lbs front springs and 325lbs rear springs. Coilovers are the way to go for a racing setup cause you can choose your spring heighth, and rate etc...but its also great for the the street cause you can raise your car for street driving and lower for racing. The setup I have is pretty stiff but I consider it very streetable, although I'm sure some people will disagree. Its a matter of opinion.
As for struts, you can go with Koni's, Tokico's, KYB, GAB, and lots of others. KYB's are adjustable and can be purchased for $370 for all 4 and I've heard they are pretty decent.
You might also want to get the rear-steer toe eliminator bushings from mazdatrix or racing beat, to get rid of the DTSS on our cars. It will make your car feel more predictable under hard cornering.
These are just some ideas, you can replace your endlinks bushings and other bushings, get larger sway bars, strut tower bars, etc...
