275/40 on 9 inch rims all the way around?

I know what you keep telling me sleepr1 (255/40 all the way around!) but I gotta put this out there before I buy new tires...

I have ssr integral a2's 17x9 all the way around now. I want to run the same tire on all 4. Car is approx 375rwhp so I want as much traction in the rear as possible. Currently have 275's yoko avs sports and they dont cut it for me as far as WOT in 2nd/3rd. I plan on tracking this car a couple times a year at hpde events and will be daily driving it.

So is anyone running this? The tires I am looking at dont have 265's so i'd have to drop to 255's and that worries me. Plus I was thinking that the 275's dont look to tall for me and it might be good to have the tire to take the potholes around here...

Thanks,

275/40 is too tall for up front.

275/40 is a bit much for a 9" wheel.

Yep, and yep. You should be running a 10" wide wheel (or at least a 9.5") to accomodate a 275 tire.

Overall diameter will be almost 1" larger than stock w/ 275s up front and there's a good chance you'll rub. What's the offset on those Integrals?

The offset is +45mm...

What if I switch my fronts and backs and take it for a drive in the neighborhood to see. If no rubbing any other reason not to go?

Wont I have alot less traction with 255's?

Also I have the tripoint double adjustable coilovers - will that help?

If not then 265's? and what tire brands offer 265/40/17's in a high-performance sticky tire? I dont expct to get more than 15K out of them.

Thanks again,

Shawn

(I expect sleepr1 to drop in any second and smack me on the back of the head for even asking.... )
