Hi guys.

Apparently tire companies don't make 255/35/17? Should I go with 255/30/17 or 255/40/17? The miata tire sizing calculator (http://www.eunos.com/tirecalc/) says the 30s will have almost the same outer diameter as the stockers but I don't know if I want the same outer diameter as my dinky 185/60/14 wheels.

255/40r17 is about perfect. Thats what I run in the rear, and will be running on all 4 in the future with my new fender and wheel setup. The 255/40r17 is .3" smaller in diameter than the stock 205/60r15s on 15" wheel equipped FCs.

 

No, you DON'T want the same diameter as you are running the wrong tire size! Base 86 FCs came with 185/70 14 tires, not 185/60s!

So, as the above poster said, 255/40 17 is correct (I don't know FCs, so you might have to run 245/40 17 for clearance, which is also ok).

Eh whatever I didn't pay much attention to the $40 tires on my car now 255s will work though.
