Wink 19" wheels.. :)

Alot of people were skeptical about me throwing 19" wheels on my car..
I was too.. I wanted wheels with more width, but being a full-time student and future-ex husband.. leads me to save my money for more important things like child support, and college course classes..

Anyway.. enough about my life.. here's my wheels..

19" Edge Engineering-Touring wheels..!!

Let me know if you like em'
These are old pics too..

What kind of suspension, I'm going 19's soon and don't want to rub so I would like to know if I can run 19's with just springs.

Sadly enough the tire width is a measely 235 front, 245 rear..

I have no problems with rubbing.. I'm using the Racing Beat Springs in the back, the front is still on stock springs.. I have the front springs.. but I'm worried about it rubbing..

With these pics, I don't have the racing beat springs on.. since these are old pics.. and my car looks different now.. via 99 lip and springs.

not to start drama or anything but just curious....

you say you wanted 19's with more width, but your only running 235/245s anyways?

i like the spoke design tho

No drama, if I wanted drama.. I would watch NBC@8?

But if you were to try and make an attempt at understanding what I said correctly, money was an issue..

I wanted rims with more width, but I settled for the more cheaper inexpensive brand small width rims.

I could've settled with a width-y 18", but I didn't want to..

Does that clarify anything for you?

imo 19's look too big for the car, out of proportion. My 18's almost look too big to me. I won't bash your tires choices cause everyone has their own style, I just can't understand how you could rationalize spending money on a bigger wheel that requires smaller tires, rather than spending the same amount of money on a smaller wheel with better sizes and better tire options? is it really that important to have 19's?

Hey RochX7,

I'm actually looking to purchase 19" wheels in the next month or two. My car is dropped an 1" in front and 1" 1/2 in the rear. I'm currently looking to get 255/30/19 front and 275/30/19 in the rear. Would you mind telling me the sizes you are running? How much firewall on the tires? Anyways it looks really good and don't mind the haters, they're always around.

It would be easier to tell how they look with a full-profile pic.

19's shouldn't rub any more than 17's or 18's with the correct tire sizes.

IMHO 18's are perfect, but 19's aren't terrible for a street wheel.

19's are only a little tricky up front due to tire choices. If one is happy with a 235/40-18 up front on a 8.5, then 19x8.5 with 235/35-19 is a snap. 245/35-18 is another 18" option but it is hard to find its 19" counterpart (245/30-19). This leaves us with a 255/30-19 as more common but a little wide for a 8.5. It would be better on a 9. In the rear a 275/30-19 is a nice fit and very common.

You can see a list of offsets and sizes in 19" that work fine on the FD in the GB thread that is going on.

BTW, the wheels look nice on the car. I know the owner of Directline who manufactures the Edge wheels. We sell their wheels as well. The tourings don't have the extreme fittments that the FD really needs but they look nice. I have always liked that wheel. They come in black now as well. They are 19x8.0's if I recall.

sorry dude, 19s just look TOO big that is just crossing the line, 18 is the biggest you can go with the FD or it starts to be aesthetically un-appealing to performance minded car enthusiasts. THAT **** LOOKS GHETTO AND IT ***** UP YOUR PERFORMANCE. thats just my opinion though, doing what you like is the most important thing.

Haha, I appreciate your enthusiasm my friend.. And it is universally known that big wheels decrease your performance..

Mind you, I didn't buy these wheels to go autocrossing or drag racing but rather to go cruising.

If I do plan on a "perfomance minded car night" I still have my black stockies wrapped in 245s.

They don't look too bad, I actually like the style, but I'm still sticking to my guns that 19" is too tall, especially with stock fenders. On a widebody with very wide wheels then they can look alright but in almost every case, I think 19" looks worse than 18" or 17", or even 16" for that matter. You could do a lot worse though!

the offsets are terrible. The spoke pattern is pretty attractive but that **** is suuuuunk. Throw some 20mm spacers on and it will look better.

man i forgive you but i just think the 19 is too big on the rx7, every car has its limit and for me the FD is at 18 inches. you could do 19s all day long or 20s if you wanted on a Z but the FD is just too small of a car to handle 19's imo, nice stockers though, painted or powdercoated?

The design is nice, but the small width makes it look funny to me. I suggest getting some studded spacers as well.

In regards to a 19" setup, you can follow the same width and offset rules you'll find in the FD Fitment guide. Just make sure your tire sizes are within stock tire diameter tolerances and you're fine.

So the 255/30 and 275/30 setup is just fine.

We commonly have run 235/35 and 265/30 or 275/30 in the rear with proper offsets.

i have some AME Circlar Spec R wheels in stock that will work on the FD. I don't think they look right without a good agressive aerokit however.

just my 2 cents, but i think the stock black 16's looked better. nice pattern, just too big for the RX-7. very clean car, none the less. But like they say, to each their own. do you want to sell your factory wheelcaps? pm me if interested.

thinking about going with some 19s too

19x9 front 245/35 +44 offset
19x10 rear 285/35 +44 offset

i'm running stock brakes and stock fenders.. if anyone has some experience with these widths i'd appreciate the input..
