Max Cooper runs 18x10, but with a 50 mm offset (I think). You need to run 285/30, not 285/35. Obviously, you will need aftermarket coil-overs.

It should be mentioned Max only runs the 18x10 on the track. He uses diferent rims on the street, 17 inch I believe.

Mine are 18x10" with exactly 7.5" backspacing, which seems to equate to about +50mm offset. It is true that I use them only on the track, but they don't seem any more likely to rub than my 17" street wheels. They do make the ride much harsher, and I would worry about beinding them on pot-holes and such if I drove on the street. I go pretty fast over speed-bumps -- I don't want a car that I have to *****-foot around generally, but that's just me. Lots of people run 18" wheels on the street with no problems.

Look out for rubbing if you plan to slam the car, or run soft springs. I don't run the car very low (<= 1" drop) and my minimum spring rate to keep from rubbing is about 550 lbs/in. Stock is 282, and none of the stock-style replacement springs are as stiff as 550s, so you'd need coil-overs. I've run them with 450s, but I got some rubbing and had the raise the car a bit (say to about 3/4" drop from stock). A stiff front sway bar would help limit travel up front, too.
