18x10 +38 255/35R18 on Front FD

So I've read LOADS of forum posts info etc. None of it is really conclusive cause everyone has a different opinion on what "fits" on an FD, even the fitment spreadsheet doesn't account for camber, tyre stretch, ride height etc.

Thinking of running
F: 18x10 +38 255/35
R: 18x10 +26 255/35

QUESTION: Will an 18x10 +38 255/35R18 clear the fender liners at a low ride height of say 25" from the ground at say -1.5 camber. Yes ill prob need to slightly roll the front fenders but its the liners I'm worried about...

Options I'm looking at for the front are:
A: 255/35/18 18x10 +38 636mm rolling diameter
B: 245/35/18 18x9.5 +32 629mm (oddball tyre size and more expensive with less options)
C: 225/40/18 18x9 +26 637mm (skinny tyre but super common and cheapest of the lot)

All above combos have the same outer poke so they don't give any more liner clearance where it matters from what I can see, just more inner clearance. From what i've seen on my car, the inner liner clearance isn't the issue, its really the middle to outer liner clearance is where it CAN hit...

Anyone have any experience with 255/35/18 in the front (what width, offset and ride height)

18x10 and a 255 usually takes +45 -+48 unless you want to run aggressive camber and roll the fenders. I'm old school and like to take it to the track though, so I'm not really worried about being flush, just tryna not rub down the Rainey Curve. My FD sits on Zeal coil overs with squared up 17x10 +45 wrapped in 255/40s.

18x10 +38 fits 255/35-18 in front if you max the camber and roll the front fender lip under.

It wont rub the fender liner turning like the taller 265/35-18 does.

You can go wider on the front wheel and tire if you want by using an offset closer to stock. Example - I run 18x11 +45 fitment with 285/30-18 (or 295/30-18 or 305/30-18).

Thanks for the input, so if you aren't rubbing on those 40's then I'm defo gonna be fine on 35 +38s..
Too much wheel inset for my taste, maybe if it had a 285/30 on the back eh But at least your car is functional.

At a sensible ride height? Sounds like my 255/35 is going to be EASY then with a 18x10 +38.

If test fitted a 18x9 +25 on a 235/40R18 (so within 1mm or so of a 18x10+38) and the poke is perfectly fine, doesn't even look like it would need much camber. BUT what I can't test very well is the inner liner rubbing potential as i don't have a 255/35 to test.

I'll pull the shock out tonight and jack the wheel up and do some checking/measuring with what I have.

But from what I am hearing I don't need to worry about a 255/35. at say 25" ride height (I dunno why everyone measures from the ground to guard on this forum, thats not really the standard way to do it, center of wheel to guard is what should be measured. Thats actual suspension geometry height (excluding tyre height differences)

Your ground to guard clearance will be different with different tyres but the suspension geometry will stay the same.. (and there is a sweet spot regardless of how big your tyre is)
