No! That will most certainly rub up front!
The proven fitment for 9-inch rim widths all the way around with 255s is 45-mm offset.
With 18-inch wheels, you'll need 255/35-18s...This is a guaranteed fitment per Kyle Bacon's SSR Integral A2s setup he ordered from Rishie (ARD T2) with Tein suspension.
With 17-inch wheels, I have 255/40-17 Yokohama AVS Intermediates. No rubbing at all with H&R Sport Springs and my stock R1 Showa shocks. I also have the SSR Integral A2s (priced at $289 each in my size from Tire Rack!).

Did you read about offset...?
8-inch is too narrow for 18-inch wheel application? The stock wheels are 8-inches wide.
What's your fascination with 35-mm offset?
When you "plus-size" you must also increase rim and tire width, as you go down in tire profile. This for maintaining weight load indexes and maximizing the performance of your investment?

I rubbed last night...
I rubbed last night...
took a 90 degree (unknown bumpy) right hand street corner last night about 30Mph (granted much faster than my usual-careful) and heard the dreaded "zipper" tire-rubbing-on-fender sound for about a half a second last night.
This was with TEIN's @ 1/3 down from stiff, dropped 3/4" in front from stock on my 18x9 SSR Integrals w/Toyo T1's 255/35/18's.
I DID have a 210lb passenger and near empty tank in rear.
Haven't ever rubbed with just me or with me and my the 98lb girlf.

The clearance with 18x9's and 255/35/18's with it lowered as it is now are definately too low to take it to the track.
I'll likely get a set of 17x9's for the track like you've done...save some weight, and raise it back up 1/4" and crank up the stiffness. With a setup like yours I'd expect to push the corners as hard as I wanted w/out worry.
BTW: I'm not a big guy, so I need a tiny girl to make me look large...hahahah

I'll likely sell my SSR Comps with Hoosiers, as I'd really like to get back to the neutral handling feel I had once had with same size tires all the way around...
Currently the Comps are 8.5 x 17 fr and 9.5 x 17 rr at 15 and 16 lbs, respectively. The Hoosiers R3S03s are 245/45-17 and 275/40-17 fr/rr.
I've thought about swapping my SSR Comps for road use, and the Integral A2s for track use, and mounting 255/40-17 track tires...
Hoosier doesn't make a 255/40-17, but there are a variety comp tires available in 255/40-17...Kumho V700, Michelin Pilot Cup Sport Comps, Pirelli P-Zero Cs and Corsas, Toyo RA-1s, or run slightly narrower 245/40-17 Hoosier R3S03s...
BUT before I sell the Comps/Hoosiers, I MUST break into the 1:19s at Putnam Park. I plan on accomplishing that in a couple of weeks at the CIR PCA instructor lapping session on the 26th...
If you're remotely interested in the Comps/Hoosiers, let me know before I burn up the tires too much

Someone was telling me about the A3's, light as hell (lighter than A2's) and a bit different than the A2's. Still thin 5 spoke, but sounded like from their description a brushed alum. lip.
I think a Passen is supposed to have a display wheel here in town, I'll have to stop by and check it out tonight, will take camera & snap a shot if they really have them.
