18" wheels and tire question?
I just put a set of 18s on my car and now have a problem in the rear. I'm running toyo t1s 275-35s in the rear on 18x9s. As with all rear independent suspension cars it frog-squats when I launch semi-hard, however the tire rubs. It even rubs when I hit a hard dip in the road as well. the car is dropped on racing beat springs (1-1.5) but it has stock r1 shocks. Any chance by going to 5-ways I can get this to stop? The car does feel real soft in the back. I know a lot of people that run these series tires on 7s without any problems...what should I do?

If your shocks are bottoming out because they're extremely worn, new, firmer shocks may help but it's only a band-aid and not a real fix. As Sleep suggested, you may have the wrong offset. 275's are pretty big to be using with full-sized coil springs. I run 265's with full coil-over conversion (2.5"OD springs) and I could run 285's. Check to see where it's hitting/rubbing too. If it's the springs, swapping out a set for say Ground Controls or going with a full, threaded body coil over like the JIC's or Tein's may be a solution as well.

I have had 285/30s (on 18X10 +44), 275/35s (18X9.5 +43), and 265/35s (18X9+42) on my rear with stock sized coils, no problems.
SleepR1 is right - this is a stricly wheel offset issue.
