17x9 Front w/ What Tire????

Alright I'm putting a 17x9 front wheel on my car with overfenders and was wondering what size tire would you reccomend. Could I run 255s all the way around? I plan on running a 17x9 setup in the rear w/ 255s and was wondering if I could do the same in the front.

I could be wrong but I think that a 255 with a 17x9 up front would be pushing it. I'm running 235/45 with a 17x8 up front and a 265/40 with a 17x9 out back. I'm sure someone on here has tried to run 255s on front with a 17x9 so surely they'll chip in. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I believe you are talking about an FC? I have an Fd with 255 40 17's all around, 44 backspacing and get a little rubbing on compression @ left front. If I lost a few pounds it may stop altogether. Eibach's and Koni's.

if youre asking about FCs....
soloracer (NyToy on TC) has a 17x9 +15 with 255/40R17 Kumho MX in front under Mariah widebody fenders.... about a 30mm wider front fender compared to stock.

the 255/40 might actually be better than a 235/45, because it's a little shorter typically. It's certainly good on a 9" wheel.

You might also try a 245/40 (not 45!), if you're a little worred about rubbing. It'll be comfy on a 9" wheel.

I'm running 255/40/17 in the front with no problem.
