17 inch tire fitment questions

im looking at some 17x8 front and 17x10 rear wheels and am wondering if i could get some help on fitment.
backspacing on front is: 6.250in and in the rear: 7in.
will these work on a third gen?

also if so, as for tires, what should i go with in the rear. i looked at jimlabs spreadsheet and it said the best fit for 17x10s is a 275/35, but i cant seem to find any tire that size on tirerack. will 275/40 be too tall and mess i with the speedo? my car is lowered about an inch all around

i used a calulator at wheelmax.com and i think the offset of the rears would be +40 and the front +44. do those sound okay?
im also thinking of running a 245/40 up front and 275/40 in back. any trouble with this?

Actually, wheels are typically 1" wider than their nominal widths...those backspacings should result in +44/+50 offsets (good!).

I would run 245/40 and 265/40. I don't like running that tall 275/40, although many do.

Excellent fitments, but if you found 17x9 +45, I would run them at all four positions. Neutral handling and the ability to rotate tires is a plus.

"Ideal" tire sizes would be 225/45 and 255/40. Good sizes would also be 235/45 and 265/40. You could also squeeze on some 245/40s up front, but they are a bit too big for an 8" wheel.
