16" tire that will hold 400whp...?

looking for a 16" tire either 245/45 or 225/50 that will hold 400whp in 2nd gear. as of now i am looking at the re-01r's and the rs2 z212. i want to make sure i get something that will also have straight line traction from a roll. anyone with a good 16" tire setup please post or anyone with some info on what i should get.

The RE-01R is a good choice for a street tire. But it's a tire for cornering, not bite from a dig. At 400hp I'm not sure that any track/autox tire will hook up the way you want to.

If you really want to hook up you need a drag radial.

yea i know i dont want to pick up a drag radial if i dont have too. it just needs to hold from a roll. dont need it to grab off a dig. right now i am searching by tread wear ratings...

265/45/16 Kumho V700 perhaps?

Width is your friend, go for a 245 at least.

you can get s02's in 22/50/16 and those have tons of straight line grip if you lower the pressure a bit. i have them now and love them.

The RE-01R is a decent choice then. The kook isn't bad either from what I hear. So would a V700, athough if it's chilly it will not bite. Ditto the temp issue for the R888, RA-1, and NT-01, as those tires are getting into R-compound and designed for grip at full temperature.

Beware of treadwear ratings. The ultra-high performance Goodyear F1s are tw 280, but have nearly as much grip as the RE-01R.
