15x9 inch wheel fitment on FC
Hello,
I did a crap ton of searching on here and could not find what I was looking for so I figured I would ask. The wheel and tire fitment thread is too long to go through!!!
I have a 87 RX7 that is has an ISC racing suspension(factory front strut cartridges with adjustable sleeves). I also have ARP extended wheel studs and I am using spacers for my factory 15" BBS wheels. I am currently looking for some 15x9 inch lightweight wheels and don't know how to go about choosing a good offset.
I know that +25 works great for 15x7's but for the life of me I cannot wrap my head around wheel offsets so I have no idea which way to go. I know the rear has plenty of room but the front is what I'm worried about. In the rear I'd like the tire to be as close to the lip as possible without touching it. I would like to be able to run 255's all the way around. I have stock fenders and I would like to keep them that way if possible.
Thanks in advance.

Don't have much expertise to answer your question, but I have to ask what 255 width 15s you plan on using? I wasn't aware of anything besides the 275 Hoosiers bigger than 225 in 15in.

I am trying to run the shortest diameter tire I can so that way I don't affect gearing much. Ok, maybe a 16" then?
Anyone?

run the 275's. you can fit them in the back with stock fenders, front no. either run wide fenders, bolt on flares (ZG), or just run high enough that they dont hit. 275's are the best size evar short tires
you can get steel 15x10's for <100 each from circle track places (Basset, Diamond, etc). alum ones shouldnt be too much more- lots of guys run Spin Werks
