15" Welds on FD

I am looking for a set of rims and tires that I can install on my FD for drag race use.
I was looking at buying some racing welds (draglites)
15"x8" in the rear but dont know what kind of street slicks to use. I am looking for a track only set.
What set-ups are other FD's running?

1993 touring FD

stock motor/stock turbos/koyo radiator/DP,MP, and Greedy thrust CB/RB 6-puck clutch & new PP/Mazdatrix driveshaft/All new pillowball bushings/KAAZ lsd/RB 4.33 R&P.

Skunks is right, you can't do it. They won't clear the brakes.

WTF are you guys talkin about? unless damonB didn't drastically edit 79CI13B's post then there's NO reason for that ****... simple question, simple answer..

it's a for DRAG ONLY.. i wouldn't mind putting 15" welds and slicks if i had an FD.

BTW, hondas don't normally use welds..

Less wheel = less weight.

Plus, 15's are popular on many drag cars, so they are easier to get in different fitments.

with 16's you might run into any trouble.

But as said before, you cannot put 15's on a FD anyways due to calaper clearance.

Just run drag tires on a spare pair of stock rims. You won't get much lighter than the stock 16" rims. You can mount 255/50 BFG drags or E/T streets (26x10x16) on the stockers for drag racing.

As i know Dan Schechter ( jigsawrx7.com ) and Ari Yallon , used 15's for drag racing !
This Weld Pro Star 69( 15x8 ) is even lighter than the stock one ( 16x8 )
Its a difficult application , but works well.....

Some of you guys show your ignorance when trying to crack on this guy. Running 15" drag wheels is better, lighter and less rotating mass, you brain doctors. And you CAN run them on a FD, you just have to lightly grind the stock caliper down a tiny bit and run a spacer.

I also noticed a lot of the drag slicks come in 15inch and not 16inch.

Well does anyone have any more info on how to modify stock calipers to fit these size wheels?
Any pictures. Those weld racing wheels look cool as hell.

Thanks alot lupe, but I have a concern.
Will this grinding of the caliper pass inspection when going to the track??

These pictures are from Jigsaw's website. It is really hard to tell if he grinded his rear stock calipers, but he does have cross drilled rotors. Would changing the rotors to smaller ones make a difference when installing 15" wheels?

I didn't get the Welds in the rear right now because I would have had to grind the nut to the toe link and caliper.
